Abstract
The paper presents specific elements regarding the association process of the Romanian agricultural sector, especially the way in which the concept of agricultural cooperative is approached in Romania, both from a legislative and a functional point of view. As such, the paper focuses on the research and analysis of financial data related to associative structures and includes an analytical functional description. A quantitative and qualitative analysis was carried out in relation to the establishment of producer groups and agricultural cooperatives during 2015-2019 (2020), more precisely the organizational form of the cooperative members and the real functioning of the entities as it resulted after analyzing the economic activity carried out by the cooperatives, as identified in the reports of the National Trade Register Office. The information collected was present and interpreted, to capture the current situation of the associative structures in Romania. The conclusions of the analysis indicate the necessity to identify and apply incentive measures both to create new structures and support their operation, as well as to facilitate the access to existing European funds that would speed-up their economic activities and development.
