Financialization of the Non-financial Corporations and Organization of the Financial Activity in Polish Large Enterprises

Abstract

The financialization phenomenon shows that most of non-financial corporations (NFCs) in developed countries formed and developed special, external units for the financial activity. Some of them had even organized own banks within finance and treasury departments. These activities have become outwardly directed. The main purpose of this study is to examine the organization, nature and forms of the financial activity realized by Polish large NFCs in terms of the financialization. The study also tries to explain what determinants are influencing on the firms financial activity’s organization. The paper reports the results from a survey mailed to select Polish large NFCs. It describes mainly how the financial activity was organized by them at the second decade of 21st century as a result of the financialization. The findings confirmed that financialization did not significant impact on organization and forms of the financial activity in Polish NFCs.
