Abstract
Hazardous waste poses a threat both to people working in contact with it and to the natural environment, which can be contaminated, therefore the Act on waste provides for many restrictions in their production, storage and disposal. The aim of the article is to present the issues related to the types of medical waste and the rules of dealing with them in accordance with the provisions of the Act on waste and executive acts. The article also describes the rules for the transport of hazardous waste constituting dangerous goods according to the provisions of the European Agreement on the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road (ADR). A separate issue discussed in the article is the transport and management of waste generated in connection with counteracting COVID-19. The article was written on the basis of the current literature on the subject and the analysis of legal acts. The article uses a desk research type analysis.
